Miners Day originated as a celebration to honor and remember Frederick’s mining heritage. This annual event features family-oriented fun and entertainment throughout the day including a parade, burro race, vendors, food trucks, activities, contests, and live entertainment. Per tradition, Miners Day will conclude with a spectacular evening concert and fireworks display.

Parade:
The 23nd annual Miners Day parade starts at 10 a.m. at Aspen Drive and Tipple Parkway. The parade will head west on Tipple Parkway, then turn south on Oak Street to Fifth Street. Then the parade will turn east on Fifth Street to Locust Street. Finally, the parade will turn south on Locust Street and end at Centennial Park (630 Eighth St.).

8th Annual Miners Day Pack Burro Race:
Celebrate Miners Day with this great sport begun by some of Colorado’s 19th-century miners. Curious about the Pack Burro Race Route?

The 9K race will start at Fifth Street and Locust Street (Downtown Frederick), head north along the trail and through the tunnel towards the Frederick Recreation Area, loop around Milavec Lake, head back south to the finish line in Centennial Park. There are some small bridges along the paved trail.

Check the Town of Frederick’s website for more information.
